Boston NOW Presents a Wi$e Up Workshop

Wi$e Up is a program designed for Generation X & Y women. Its goals are to promote financial security through online education and to encourage responsible saving habits for future retirement.

The Wi$e Up segment on credit is designed to show women how to obtain and manage credit. In addition to points on establishing and shopping for credit, we will address your debt-to-income ratio, your credit history, solutions to credit problems and protection of your financial identity.

Guest Speaker: Ann Petter, the Wi$e Up workshop facilitator, has had a long and eclectic career, including everything but nuerosurgeon and opera singer. At present, she is a partner in a nano-consulting group, Organizational Strategies Associates, which provides consulting and training in staff development and board development for non-profit and governmental organizations. Their speciality is women and employment; therfore they do occasional work for the Women's Bureau. In the past she has headed RESOLVE, CITAP, a Boston YWCA branch, the Eastern Regional Displaced Homemaker Center. Currently she is Vice-Chair of the national Board of Directors of Women Work!

Directions to the Crittenton Women's Union - One Washington Mall, Boston
By MBTA (recommended)

* Orange or Blue Line to State Street. Follow signs for "Old State House" to street level. The station is directly beneath the Old State House; One Washington Mall is directly across State Street, on the left of the brick walkway.
* Green Line to Government Center. At street level, walk toward City Hall, and take the first right onto the brick walkway to the right of City Hall. One Washington Mall is the building on your right.
* Red Line to Downtown Crossing. Walk down Washington Street toward City Hall to State Street (several blocks). One Washington Mall is directly across State Street, on the left of the brick walkway.

By Car (Be warned that driving directions may vary due to road construction)

* From the North: Take 93 South to the Haymarket exit. Turn right on New Chardon St and take your first left onto Congress St at the traffic lights. Continue on Congress past Faneuil Hall on your left and Boston City Hall on your right. At the next intersection (Congress and State Streets), you will see the Old State House on your right. Take a right onto State Street; One Washington Mall is directly across from the Old State House on the left of the brick walkway.
* From the South: Take 93 North and keep right in the South Station tunnel. Exit at the sign for Atlantic Ave. Stay to the left on Atlantic and make a left turn at the State St traffic light (New England Aquarium is on the right). The Old State House is directly ahead. One Washington Mall is directly across State St, on the left of the brick walkway.
* From the West: Take the Mass Pike (90) to 93 North. Continue with "From the South" directions above.
* From Cambridge: Take the Longfellow Bridge to Cambridge St. Follow Cambridge St to the New Sudbury St traffic light. Make a left turn onto New Sudbury and then a right onto Congress St. Continue on Congress past Faneuil Hall on your left and Boston City Hall on your right. At the next intersection (Congress and State) you will see the Old State House, on the left of the brick walkway.
